Frequently asked questions

Besides LinKit! Manager, you need access on the same computer to the application for which you want to link user documentation. The documentation itself you can create in your favorite way (with or without a help authoring tool).

LinKit! supports documentation in any format, including CHM and XML files, HTML pages, and files in for instance Word, PDF, Powerpoint or Flash format.

You can test a link as soon as you create it. You’ll see the same results as your users, too.

Users can either click an icon in their task bar or press a shortcut key to view the documentation linked to a window or dialog box. LinKit! tracks the active window, so it knows which topic to display.

If more than one topic is linked to the current window, users select which topic to view first. You have complete control over the document names that are presented to the end-user, independently from the original naming of the document files.

You can continuously and simply update LinKit! - Add new windows, add new documentation, publish, and distribute.

Software requirements:

• Microsoft .NET 2 Framework or later.
• Microsoft Internet Explorer 6.0 or later.
• Windows Installer 3.0 required. Windows Installer 3.1 is recommended.

Required disk space: 64 MB

64-bit support: There are no 64-bit binaries available for LinKit!. However, the 32-bit binaries are fully tested and approved for 64-bit platforms.
